Milan hitman Filippo Inzaghi says he is determined to wear the Rossoneri jersey despite suffering a season-ending knee injury against Palermo on Wedensday night.

The 37-year-old came on as a substitute for Alexandre Pato, but had to be replaced not long after, holding his knee and in considerable pain.

"Life and football are like this," Inzaghi revealed in a statement on the club's official website. "A minute prior, you are playing and fighting for the ball, and then you are holding your knee with your hands.

"And it is only another minute later that you are looking around you, and around me I have a lot of supporters, and I thank them.

"Everyone has gotten behind me. The club, the coach, my team-mates, the fans. I look at you and you are supporting me. Everyone knows deep down - like I do - that it will be tough to come back, but I will not give up.

"I will do everything I can because this adventure is not over."

And those sentiments are also echoed by Roma captain Francesco Totti, who hopes for a speedy recovery.

"Never give up, Pippo," Totti said. "You are an example for all of us to never give up.

"Inzaghi is a talented players - his statistics say it all. He is a master of the offside trap, knowing how to beat it.

"Filippos is a professional who has always trained with discipline, with the will to always score and win."
